New Salon Opens in Arlington Heights

A new salon opened next to Lakota Bakery in Arlington Heights on Monday, Sept. 30.

Arlington resident Liz King and Jesica Velez, of Haverhill, opened J&L Hair Studio at 1371 Mass. Ave.

The two, with more than 20 years of experience combined, worked together at Eccoli in Lexington Center. King specializes in coloring, Velez in cutting.

Soon, another old co-worker, Cassie Callahan, who specializes in deva cuts, will join them, King said Monday.

King and Velez had wanted to open their own place for a few years but were waiting for the right spot to open up.

“We love Arlington,” King said.

J&L Hair Studio is having an open house on Saturday, Nov. 2.

The studio accepts walk-ins but reservations can be made at 781-643-4643 or online at www.jandlhairstudio.com. The studio’s rates can also be found on the website.

Hours: Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
