Public Meeting with Special Education Director Finalist Tonight

One of the district's two finalists is set to meet with teachers, students, parents, community members and administrators from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the high school.

Today is Thursday, Feb. 7. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) One of Arlington’s two remaining special education director finalists, Marisa McCarthy, is scheduled to meet with teachers, students, parents, community members and administrators from 6:30-7:30 p.m. this evening in the School Committee Room on the sixth floor of Arlington High School. McCarthy is currently the interim Director of Special Education and Student Support Services for the Attleboro Public Schools. Read more.

2.) Kit Harrington Hayes, author of the housing chapter in “Live Smart After 50!,” will moderate a panel discussion tonight at the Robbins Library with folks with experience in staying in and modifying their homes, the village-to-village approach, co-housing and moving closer to family. 3.) The Arlington International Film Festival’s 2013 Poster Contest Press Announcement and Reception is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. this evening in Town Hall.

4.) The Arlington High girls’ basketball team will host Lexington at 7 p.m. tonight; the boys’ team will be at Lexington at 4 p.m.
