Woman Dumps Water on Smoking Neighbor

It wasn't a beautiful day in an East Arlington neighborhood Tuesday.

An East Arlington woman told police Tuesday evening that her neighbor had just pushed her and slapped her in the face.

What sparked the alleged assault?

She said she had returned home to her Fremont Street residence at about 5 p.m. and then dumped a kettle of water on her neighbor’s head, as the woman was smoking a cigarette on their shared front porch again after having been repeatedly told not to.

The woman had a small scratch on the side of her nose and redness around her neck, police said.

Police then spoke to the neighbor, who said after the woman came up behind her and drenched her, the woman was the one who slapped her in the face and broke her glasses. She was soaking wet and crying, according to police.
