Plane Crash at Cape Cod Airport; Multiple People Hurt
A plane crashed upon landing at the Barnstable Municipal Airport Sunday.
BARNSTABLE, MA — A plane arriving at Barnstable Municipal Airport Sunday crashed on the runway, tore through a fence, and smashed into several cars—injuring the pilot and several passengers.
All were expected to survive, State Police said.
The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m.

Flying conditions in Barnstable Sunday were perfect, with clear skies and a light wind as the temperature soared to near 90 degrees.

Barnstable-area fire crews were also busy fighting a massive brush fire at Joint Base Cape Cod that started Saturday and stretched into Sunday. Blackhawk helicopters were used to drop water on the blaze. The fire scorched at least 20 acres.
