BOSTON — It can be tough to draw crowd energy on the last night of a music festival, especially if much of the crowd went all three days and is exhausted by that point — but Travis Scott and Logic were able to keep the party going for thousands of fans one more night. Scott's set in particular turned up the heat quite literally.

The massive production had fire shooting from the floor of the stage as Scott continued to spit rhymes and dance around the flames. I can only imagine how hot it must have got on stage, since I could feel it from the crowd.

The performance continued to have a lot of flash throughout with its stage production, but the flash never got in the way of substance, which was evident throughout the entire 23-song set. The whole backdrop of the carousal and teddy bear represented an amusement park that was torn down in his home-city of Houston and replaced with apartment buildings. The anger behind that and wanting to take back the amusement park is what drove Scott's latest record, "Astroworld," and every song he played, especially the ones off that album, were performed with an urgent energy often only found when a rapper is truly on top of their game.

The crowd certainly agreed and responded to that energy with their own. People seemed to equally dig the big tracks he played off "Astroworld," including "Stargazing," "Carousel," and "Wake Up," as much as older songs like "Antidote" and "Flying High." Unlike Tame Impala, this crowd was less just vibing and more actively getting involved with the set. The voices were absolutely deafening throughout.

Logic

Logic pandered hard to the Boston sports fans in his late night set, covering Queen's "We are the Champions" and acknowledging the Bruins trip to the Stanley Cup Final. But when its a sports town like Boston its never a bad thing — and the crowd responded well to it.

Logic's set included fan interaction such as this throughout, reminding his audience about his message of positivity, and that no one is too cool to dance and have a good time. It wasn't in a, "No one is dancing, so I'll call out the audience kind of way."

Well it was a little, during his song "Homicide," which he started over after asking the audience for more. The crowd was already going crazy though, and Logic's natural hype appeal only intensified that further. The energy continued through other big songs, including "Pardon My Ego," and a massive encore with "Everyday" ending the set.
