Upscale Greek Eatery To Open First MA Location
Here's when the longtime New York City restaurant plans to open in Boston.
BOSTON, MA — A well-known Greek restaurant in New York City announced its plans to open in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.
Avra Estiatorio, the upscale eatery known for its large fish display and fresh seafood, is set to open at 400 Newbury St. in mid-April. The restaurant will be Avra’s eighth location and its first in Massachusetts.
The restaurant, owned by Nick Tsoulos and Nick Pashalis, features a menu featuring Mediterranean seafood flown in daily, with seasonal vegetables, Greek hand-pressed extra-virgin olive oil and curated cocktails and wines.

For those who don't love fish, the menu will also include lamb, chicken and steak.
"We’re thrilled to introduce the same warm Greek hospitality and exceptional Mediterranean seafood that have defined Avra for decades to the Boston community,” said Tsoulos, who is from the coastal Greek town of Nafpaktos. “Boston has long been a city we’ve admired, and we’re excited to finally share our tradition and energy in the heart of Back Bay.”

Avra will be located on the second floor of the new Lyrik development at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street. The eatery will be open seven days a week for dinner, with lunch and brunch to follow.
Avra operates several locations in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, CA, Dallas, TX and Miami, FL.
