Braintree Officer Shot at Motel 6 Released From Hospital
Officer Donny Delaney was released from Boston Medical Center Sunday.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree police officer who was shot at Motel 6 on Union Street Friday night went home Sunday.
Officer Donny Delaney has been released from Boston Medical Center. He was transported to the hospital shortly for surgery and medical treatment after getting shot by a man during a warrant check at the motel.
Delaney was shot by Tizaya Jordan Robinson at about 9:30 p.m. Friday after approaching the room he was in. The incident resulted in officers from several local police departments, state police, the Boston division of the ATF, and a SWAT team responding to the incident. Occupants of the motel were evacuated the MBTA halted service to the nearby Braintree station.

Following a long standoff, Robinson was found dead in his room early Saturday morning from an apparent self-inflicted gun wound.
Delaney faces more surgery but is expected to make a full recovery.
