Mother And 2-Year-Old Daughter Seriously Injured In Taunton House Explosion
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
TAUNTON, MA — A mother and her 2-year-old daughter were seriously injured in Wednesday morning's house explosion in Taunton.
The three-family home was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived shortly before 10 a.m., according to media release issued by the fire department.

"Two injured residents — a mother and child — were transported to area hospitals," the release said.
"The 25-year-old woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with severe burns by Raynham Fire Department Ambulance, and the 2-year-old child was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with serious injuries by Brewster Ambulance."

The origin and cause of the explosion are under investigation by the Taunton Fire Department, Taunton Police Department and State Fire Marshal’s Office.
