Brookline Cops Alleging Racial Bias Denied Paid Leave

Brookline will not grant two of its officers paid leave while their allegations of racial bias and hostile working conditions in the police department are investigated. Prentice Pilot and Estifanos Zerai-Misgun, both black, will not be compensated for their time off while their claims are investigated. The two officers have been on leave since going public with their allegations in December.

Super Tuesday 2016: Brookline Voting Results

Today Brookline voters flooded the polls to place their picks for the Democratic and Republican nominees. According to the Brookline Town Clerk’s office, Hillary Clinton and John Kasich earned the most votes from their respective parties.

Brookline Burglaries: Possible Break in String of Home Invasions

Three people arrested after a traffic stop Monday night are believed to be connected to a wave of break-ins plaguing the town. Ingrid Mejia, 40, Jargle Soto-Soazo, 30, and Jose Romero, 32, were pulled over after an officer recognized Romero from a suspected attempted burglary caught on a home surveillance video Feb. 24.

Brookline Liquor Mart Opens Tuesday at the Street

Brookline Liquor Mart opened up a new location at 7 Boylston Street at The Street in Chestnut Hill today. This is the store’s first expansion since its opening more than 80 years ago. The family-owned business has operated out of its iconic Allston shop through four generations, providing customers with a vast selection of fine wine, craft beer and unique items, in addition to welcoming, friendly employees who adhere to their neighborhood roots.

Brookline Approves New Superintendent

The School Committee voted Thursday to officially name Andrew Bott the next Superintendent of Public Schools in Brookline. Bott was named the committee's preferred candidate two weeks ago in a 6-1 'straw vote' with two abstentions. He is currently the principal of Lincoln School and has 14 years of experience in various school administrations around Brookline and Boston.
