BHS Students Lend Hand at Polls with iPads

Burlington High School students volunteered at the polls on Saturday by using their school-issued iPads to help voters find their districts.

Voters had a little extra technical assistance at the polls during on Saturday.

Students from Burlington High School volunteered to offer their technical know-how and put their school-issued iPads handed out this year in the first year of the new to use by helping voters find their precinct. 

Town Clerk Amy Warfield said that when voters come to the polls, they need to find their town district in order to vote. Some voters don't always remember which district they are in and need a little help. Also, because the precincts change in this , many voters this year had the potential of being unaware which line to get into to vote.

"The students have been here today helping voters," Warfield said. "All they need to do is tell the students their address and the kids can pull up the precinct on their iPads. They have been a big help." 

When Burlington Patch was at the polls, seniors Jenna Perlmutter and Lexi Sheldon were manning the entry to the high school gym where voting was taking place. Both were ready to help and said they were enjoying lending a hand at the polls. They said that some voters had asked them for assistance and that they had happily been helped them out.
