Another Gunfire Incident Over Weekend Prompts Concern

Cambridge City Councilors say they're dedicating their Monday public meeting to the issue.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — The city's tenth report of a gunfire incident of the year was Saturday, where police got word from the ShotSpotter app and then found casings. No one reported injuries, but coming on the heels of an earlier community meeting about the summer uptick in shootings this has folks concerned.

Now Cambridge City Councilors say they're planning to use their Monday public meeting to call for “an aggressive new strategy to reduce the violence” in the Port and Wellington-Harrington neighborhoods, the Cambridge Day reports.
