Beloved Health Cafe Known For Acai Bowls, Smoothies Opens First MA Location

The all-day health foods store is opening in Harvard Square.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A popular wellness cafe in Miami is officially coming to Massachusetts.

Pura Vida Miami is opening in Harvard Square, a company spokesperson confirmed to Patch. The all-day wellness cafe will open its doors at 95 Mt. Auburn St.

The Miami-based eatery will serve all-day breakfast, as well as salads, bowls, sandwiches and smoothies. The business applied for and was granted a special permit at a Cambridge Board of Zoning Appeal meeting on Mar. 12.

The restaurant operates dozens of locations. Most are in Florida, but you can find other locations in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and California. The Cambridge location will mark the company's first in Massachusetts and in New England.

Pura Vida Miami posted signage outside the Cambridge storefront. Plans for the restaurant include seating for 88 customers, according to a report from Harvard University's collegiate newspaper, The Harvard Crimson.

Pura Vida Miami said it does not yet have an exact opening date for the store.
