Boy Scouts Host 35th Annual Cambridge Good Scout Luncheon
Four community leaders honored for their service to the city
Cambridge, Mass. (June 25, 2018) – The Boy Scouts Spirit of Adventure Council hosted its 35th annual Cambridge Good Scout Luncheon at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge. This event honored four community leaders for their service to the city, and raised money for the Boy Scouts’ many youth development programs.
The Boy Scouts Spirit of Adventure Council honored Susan Lapierre, the Senior Vice President for Community Relations & CRA Officer at Cambridge Savings Bank. Ms. Lapierre received the Lady Baden-Powell Award, which is presented to distinguished women who have had a significant impact on area youth through service to others, community leadership and personal example.
Patrick Rowe, Director of Real Estate at MITIMCo, was also honored with the Corporate Citizen Award, which recognizes a business that exemplifies the Scout Law’s values through its business practices and dealings with the community.

In addition, the Robert W. Healy Good Scout Award was presented to a pair of Cambridge Police officers, Eric Helberg, and Matthew Price. Both of whom work on Homeless Outreach as members of the Cambridge Police Community Relations Department. The Good Scout Award is presented to someone who is unselfish in serving others on an individual and community basis. The Good Scout seeks no return for service other than the satisfaction of aiding others in the community and the nation.
The Boy Scouts of America Spirit of Adventure Council also recognized the two co-chairs for helping make this event possible. Denis K. Sheahan, Chairman & CEO of Cambridge Trust Company; and Wayne Patenaude, President & CEO of Cambridge Savings Bank.

The featured speaker was Zoey Gatu Johnson, of Troop 56 in Cambridge. Zoey is a third-generation Scout who spoke about the positive effects that the inclusion of girls in scouting has had on her life.
