Cambridge Police Investigating Weekend Shooting Incident
No arrests have been made in connection with the event.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — The police department is investigating an incident in which shots were fired in the city this past weekend.
Officers responded to the scene on Chestnut Street at approximately 1 a.m. after receiving multiple emergency calls about gunshots being fired in the vicinity. Ballistic evidence was found and recovered almost immediately upon arrival. According to the department, no injuries were reported and the shooter remains at large. However, police said that the preliminary investigation suggests that there is no ongoing danger to the broader community.
Community members with relevant information are being asked to contact the detectives at 617-349-3300. Public Information Officer Robert Reardon told Patch that were no updates to the investigation as of Monday afternoon.
