Craigslist Puppy Scam, Hit-and-Run, 'Abusive' Emerson Hospital Patient: Concord Police Log
The following are excerpts from the Concord police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Mon., July 27
- 1:45 a.m. Someone reportedly dumped a mattress, box spring, broken dresser, drawers, chairs, and table legs behind the Concord Municipal Light plant on Elm Street.
- 9:18 a.m. A caller said there was a young woman with a gun strapped to herself walking down Main Street. She also had a dog with her. Police checked the area but couldn’t find anyone matching that description.
- 11:56 a.m. There was a three-car crash on Route 2. No one was hurt.
- 1:42 p.m. Following a report of a hit-and-run crash near the Concord Lumber Company on Lowell Road, Anthony Mackerron, 22, of Buzzards Bay, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.
- 2:38 p.m. A caller reported he met a woman in Concord about possibly purchasing puppies. When he arrived, the puppies appeared to be sick and were not the ones advertised on Craigslist, where he first contacted the woman. The woman lives in Cambridge, he said. Animal Control was notified.
- 4:28 p.m. The manager of the Lowell Road Rite Aid said two Hispanic men tried to purchase $500 in VISA gift cards, using what may have been stolen credit cards. The manager refused the sale and the men took off.
- 4:52 p.m. A dog was hit by a car on Laurel Street. Two Good Samaritans found the dog and held it until Animal Control arrived. the dog was transported to a local veterinary clinic.
- 11:58 p.m. Emerson Hospital staff called police about a patient making threats and being verbally abusive.
Tue., July 28
- 7:55 a.m. Two vehicles were broken into on Estabrook Road.
- 8:35 a.m. A caller said he purchased a puppy off Craigslist (from the same woman mentioned in the police log entry above). The puppy died overnight. Police launched an investigation.
- 9:35 a.m. Erin Logan, 46, of Nathan Pratt Drive, was charged with assault and battery and violating a restraining order.
- 9:39 a.m. Discarded fireworks were found near Concord-Carlisle High School.
- 11:23 a.m. Another caller complained about a Craigslist puppy scam involving the same woman mentioned above.
