Dedham Author's New Book Hits Top of NYTimes Best Seller List

DEDHAM, MA - Within days of its release, Dedham resident and NY Times bestselling author/illustrator Peter H. Reynolds’ newest book, The Word Collector has already hit the New York Times Best Seller List at the #4 position. The picture book tells the story of a boy who collects words and learns how to use them to connect, transform and empower those around him.

A recent Kirkus review had the following to say about Peter’s new book: “In his love letter to those who take delight in words, Reynolds elegantly and with almost ironic brevity demonstrates the entrancing meanings and sounds and textures of English words together with uncluttered…illustrations to capture the beauty of words and the wonder of sharing them.” Likewise, the School Library Journal says the book “packs a powerful punch and captures both the joy of learning and the power of kindness."

Peter H. Reynolds is a long-time Dedham resident and lively champion of creativity, literacy, and community, with a world-wide following. He currently serves as President of Dedham Square Circle. He has owned The Blue Bunny Bookstore for nearly 15 years. Peter and his brother Paul Reynolds own and run FableVision, a children’s educational media company with locations in Dedham and Boston.

The Blue Bunny Bookstore is known as the “little shop with the big mission” – to inspire creativity and self-expression in kids and grown-up kids.
