Dedham Greenspace Coalition to Host Meeting Featuring Statewide Conservation Initiative
March 26 at 7PM, Feature Heather Clish, Policy Director at The Trustees of Reservations, Speaking to Support Pending MA Conservation Bill
Dedham, MA — The Dedham Greenspace Coalition invites community members and conservation advocates to its next monthly meeting on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 PM at Reynolds TLC Studios, 390 Washington Street, Dedham Square.

The evening will feature special guest Heather Clish, who will present on a major statewide conservation effort led by the Nature for All Coalition. This coalition, made up of more than 50 environmental, conservation, and community organizations, is advocating for the passage of the Nature for All bill (H.901/S.2571)—a landmark proposal to significantly expand funding for land and water conservation across the Commonwealth.
The proposal offers a straightforward yet powerful idea: dedicate a portion of existing state sales tax revenue from sporting goods to generate $100 million annually for conservation efforts—without introducing any new taxes. These funds would support protecting natural habitats, improving water quality, expanding access to parks and trails, preserving farmland, and strengthening Massachusetts’ growing outdoor recreation economy.

“The new funding mechanism would support the conservation and restoration of water and land in Massachusetts, and to support the creation and improvement of parks, trails, greenspaces, and other outdoor recreation spaces," states Noah Matson, Chief Conservation and Climate Officer for The Trustees, a coalition member. He explains, "This would be funded by the state’s existing sales tax on sporting goods such as hiking boots and tents, without new taxes. This would more than 10x the amount of funding the Commonwealth provides to land and water conservation each year.”
The Dedham Greenspace Coaltion meeting is free and open to the public - welcoming anyone interested in advancing land and water conservation, environmental sustainability, and community-driven advocacy.
