Dedham Greenspace Coalition Hosts its Second Story Slam Community Story Sharing Event
Share or Hear Stories About "When Life Throws You a Curve Ball - And Taught You Something Along the Way" - Friday, May 29 6:30pm
DEDHAM, MA. The Dedham Greenspace Coalition is inviting residents and friends of Dedham to gather for an inspiring evening of live storytelling at its upcoming Story Slam event taking place on Friday evening, May 29th at TLC Studios & Media Lab in Dedham Square.
The theme of this month’s Story Slam is “Curve Balls.” Storytellers are invited to share true, personal tales about life’s unexpected twists, turns, detours, and moments that changed everything. Stories may be funny, hair-raising, or heartfelt. All promise to remind audiences of the power of resilience in the face of adversity - and the inspiration that comes from being brave enough to share the lessons learned.
“This event is about bringing people together through storytelling,” said Carol Hills, Executive Director of the Dedham Greenspace Coalition. “Stories have a unique way of building empathy, and strengthening community connections. We’re excited to create a welcoming space where everyone can listen, reflect, and maybe even see their own lives a little differently.”

The event also supports the Coalition’s broader mission to advocate for and protect vibrant green spaces, trails, and natural resources throughout Dedham. By blending arts, storytelling, and community engagement, the organization hopes to cultivate deeper connections between people and Dedham’s special places.

Audience members can attend simply to enjoy the evening or sign up to share a story of their own. The top three stories, as voted by a panel of professional creatives and storytellers, will win prizes generously donated by Big Bear Cafe & Espresso Bar, Blue Bunny Books, Cafe Fresh Bagel, Dedham Bike, and Marathon Sports all located in Dedham Square.
The Dedham Greenspace Coalition is a community-driven initiative working to advocate for Dedham’s greenspaces, trails, and natural resources through education, collaboration, and public engagement.
