Dedham Inmates Relocated Due to Water Problems

DEDHAM, MA — A water supply issue at Norfolk County Correctional Center in Dedham led to the relocation of about 200 inmates, officials say.

Friday night, the problem began after a car struck a fire hydrant, according to the Boston Globe.David Weber, Norfolk County Sheriff’s office spokesman, said some areas of the facility had low water pressure or no pressure due to sediment filling the pipes.

Inmates were transported to other facilities. The problem was expected to be fixed by Sunday.
