Dedham Officer Held on $5K Bail, Dedham Selectmen Respond to Arrest
MIchael Schoener is charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping of an Avon man in January.

Dedham Police Officer Michael Schoener was held on bail Wednesday after being arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping last winter.
In January, two men reportedly arrived at the home of an Avon man, displaying law enforcement badges and taking him away. The two men believed to be involved and posing as police officers were subsequently arrested, and Schoener has been accused of allegedly providing the police-related equipment used in the incident, according to WHDH
On Wednesday, Dedham Police said in a statement that Schoener was taken into custody under an arrest warrant issued in relation to a “Grand Jury indictment in association with an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office.” To read the Dedham Police Department’s statement regarding the arrest and charges, click here.
