Dedham Police Log: Pumpkin from Nowhere, Theft, and More

October 10
7:15 a.m. - During a traffic stop on Cedar Street, an officer issued a criminal complaint for a driver with a suspended license and no insurance.

7:17 p.m. - A shoplifter was reported at T.J. Maxx on Route 1. The suspect fled in a white Mercedes Benz but a responding officer noticed a car that matched the description of the suspect’s car in the Washington Street and Providence Highway rotary. The store said they got the merchandise back but the suspect refused to go to loss prevention. The store said they will seek their own complaint.

6:59 a.m. - During a traffic stop on Bussey Street, a driver with a failed inspection sticker and revoked insurance received a criminal complaint.
October 13
8:53 p.m. - A person on Sprague Street told police that a pumpkin came out of nowhere and struck her car. She said she didn’t see where it came from, but police believe it may have been thrown from a nearby wooded area.
