Dedham Savings Community Foundation donates to Southwest Boston CDC

Grant funds will be used to make improvements to SWBCDC properties.

March 17, 2025 – The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has provided a grant to Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation (SWBCDC). Grant funds will be used to make improvements to SWBCDC properties, including new appliances, new boilers, and similar improvements that create safe, comfortable and affordable housing for occupants, who are low to moderate income families, elderly residents and minorities.

Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation works with partners to build and sustain a thriving, economically diverse community in Hyde Park, Roslindale and parts of Mattapan. Their mission is to create and preserve affordable housing and prevent displacement of low- and moderate-income families and elderly residents.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year. Organizations wishing to request funding from the Foundation may apply online at www.dedhamsavings.com/community.
