Families Invited to the World Premiere of “The Tooth Fairy’s Magical Mission” in Dedham

DEDHAM, MA — Families are invited to a special, free community event on Sunday, June 7 at 2:00 PM at the Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning & Creativity’s TLC Studios in Dedham Square for the debut screening of The Tooth Fairy’s Magical Mission, a new animated short film centered around one of childhood’s most memorable moments: losing a tooth, but with a new twist.

The project is a collaboration with educational media development firm FableVision Studios, the non-profit Reynolds Center’s TLC Studios, and the Wiggly Tooth Workshop, which was founded by entrepreneur, inventor, product designer and creative storyteller Gerard Murphy who is also a Dedham resident. Murphy explains, “What fascinated me was the question children ask after losing a tooth,” said Murphy. “‘What does the Tooth Fairy actually do with it?’ In Arlo’s story, children’s teeth hold the qualities they’ve been growing since birth - kindness, courage, creativity, perseverance, wonder - and the Tooth Fairy quietly uses those qualities to help keep the world balanced.”
The event will feature a screening of the film, behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the film, and family-friendly activities for young children.

The Tooth Fairy’s Magical Mission features a curious boy named Arlo, who loses a tooth and asks, “What does the Tooth Fairy actually do with my tooth — and why?” That question leads to an unforgettable late-night adventure with CeCe, the Tooth Fairy. During the journey, Arlo discovers that children’s teeth hold special qualities that grow over time - courage, kindness, patience, creativity, friendship, perseverance, and wonder. CeCe quietly gathers those qualities and uses them to help keep the world balanced in small but meaningful ways.

After the screening and talk by its creators, families will have opportunities to participate in themed activities designed especially for children who have recently lost or are preparing to lose their own teeth. The film will honor the imagination of children who are looking forward to the Tooth Fairy’s visit. As Paul Reynolds notes, “The film keeps the wonder of the Tooth Fairy alive while giving families a deeper sense of why losing a tooth feels like such an important childhood milestone.”

The event is expected to run approximately one hour and is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to RSVP in advance through the Reynolds Center’s Humanitix registration platform.

Guests will also have a chance to see the ToothSafe - a playful device designed to keep lost teeth safe for the Tooth Fairy’s visit. As Arlo says in the film, “ No one wants to lose a tooth - and then really lose it!”
