4 Face Eel Poaching, Drugs, Weapons Charges In Wareham
Four people were found with crack, heroin and a gun when they were busted for illegal eel harvesting, environmental police said.

WAREHAM, MA — Four Maine residents were charged with drug and weapon offenses after they were caught illegally hunting eels in Wareham, according to environmental police. An officer found the group with undersized glass eels and small mesh nets, the department said.
Officers found crack cocaine and a crack pipe on one of the people charged, as well as a .45-caliber gun and magazine in the car, environmental police said. None of the people in the car was registered to carry a gun in Massachusetts, according to police.
After the group was taken into custody, officers searched their car and found heroin, hypodermic needles containing brown liquid and more ammunition, police said.

All four individuals face the following charges:
1. Possession undersized American Eels
2. Harvesting Eels without a permit
3. Possession of fine mesh net in the vicinity of coastal waters.
4. Possession of ammunition without a valid LTC / FID
5. Possession of Class A drugs (heroin)
6. Possession of Class B drugs (crack cocaine)
7. Trespass
8. Trespass with a Motor Vehicle
