Cape Cod Thief Captured After Chase: Police

James Conlon, 36, of Bourne, recently stole "many items" in two towns while out on bail for similar charges.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod thief accused of stealing two bicycles and "many other items" in Sandwich and Bourne was arrested again Monday, police said. James Conlon, 36, of Bourne, was charged with a host of crimes following his arrest in that town. At the time, he was out on bail for multiple larceny and breaking and entering charges.

Conlon recently stole two bicycles in Bourne, police said.

"In one instance, Conlon abandoned the stolen bicycle in the woods when the owner gave chase," Bourne police said in a statement. "In the second instance, it is believed the bicycle was abandoned when it was discovered the bicycle had a flat tire."

Both bicycles were recovered. Police said they found "many" stolen items at his residence.
