Cape Cod Woman Burned After Hoverboard Explodes
The woman suffered second and third degree burns in the fire Saturday night.

MASHPEE, MA – A Mashpee woman was injured when a hoverboard exploded in her home Saturday night, according to reports. The fire started in her son's room, where the hoverboard was charging, her husband told the Cape Cod Times.
The woman grabbed the hoverboard, which the family had borrowed from a friend, and threw it in the bathtub to run water over it. She suffered third and second degree burns on her hands and foot, the Times reported.
The fire burned part of the carpet and stained the wall, but it could have been much worse. The homeowner told the Times the house could have been a "total loss."
