Falmouth Hit-And-Run Driver Cited After Leaving Bumper Behind: PD

Police said a car fled the scene after hitting a utility pole – but didn't take its bumper and license plate with it.

FALMOUTH, MA – A California man was cited for fleeing a crash in Falmouth Wednesday night, police said. Officers were called to Falmouth Heights Road around 9 p.m. after a car crashed into a utility pole.

The car fled the scene before officers arrived, but the front bumper and license plate were left behind, according to police. Officers found the car disabled a few hundred yards down the road with snow covering its rear and side windows, police said.

The 23-year-old driver, who police did not name, was cited for a marked lanes violation, impeded operation and leaving the scene of a crash.
