Falmouth Bandits Spray Cameras, Steal Loader: Police

Bourne police said tips from the public and a Florida laboratory led to the arrests of Scott Geggatt, Ryan Tavares and Christopher Tavares.

BOURNE, MA — Three Falmouth men were arrested after spray-painting security cameras at a Bourne construction site and stealing a skid-steer loader, police announced Tuesday. Scott Geggatt, 50; Ryan Tavares, 20; and Christopher Tavares, 26, were charged with felony larceny, felony destruction of property and misdemeanor conspiracy. They were held in custody pending an arraignment in Falmouth District Court.

One of the suspects was caught spray-painting security cameras at the Scraggy Neck Road construction site June 1. The trio then stole a Caterpillar skid-steer loader.

"We received tips and leads from near and far about this caper," Bourne police said in a statement. "We even received the assistance of a laboratory (workers) in (Florida) who voluntarily enhanced the video for us. We appreciate and are humbled by all of those who helped spread the word, and all of those tips that came in to us which helped nab (the suspects)."
