Falmouth Man 'Masturbated' At Park, Arrested

YARMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth man was arrested this week in Yarmouth after witnesses told police he masturbated at a local park in the middle of the day. Jeffrey Anderson, 62, was charged with lewd conduct following the alleged incident at Peter Holmes Park in Yarmouth Monday. He was released on bail Wednesday and court-ordered to stay away from Peter Holes Park.

Police said an officer was dispatched to the park at about 3:30 p.m. after a concerned citizen reported Anderson, with a shopping cart nearby, was masturbating.

"Upon arrival, several male and female adult eyewitnesses confirmed the report," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "They were very upset and worried about the children in the area."

Anderson was subsequently arrested.

"Peter Homer Park is a beautiful facility with no prior issues of concern," Yarmouth police added. "The YPD is grateful to the concerned citizens who reported this incident."
