Falmouth Police Captain Jeffrey Smith Retires
Falmouth Police Captain Jeffrey Smith spent 29 years with the department and worked with several school and town sports organizations.

FALMOUTH, MA — After almost three decades on the job, Police Captain Jeffrey Smith has retired. Smith started as a patrol officer in 1990 and worked his way up the ranks from sergeant to lieutenant and eventually captain in 2014.
During his career, Smith held several specialties within the police department including working as a field training officer, internal affairs investigator, background investigator, sexual assault investigator an as a drug task force officer.
Smith also spent his 29 years on the force working with community organizations with the schools and youth sports. Some of these include volunteering with the Falmouth Public Schools Distirct Safety Team, the Falmouth Substance Abuse Commission and as an athletic league volunteer.

"Capt. Smith will be truly missed by the men and women of the Falmouth Police Department as well as the community he served," Falmouth police said in a statement.
