Man Run Over By Own Truck In Falmouth

A man man was medflighted in Falmouth after he was run over by his own truck, which continued driverless toward a farmers market.

FALMOUTH, MA — A man was run over by his own truck and seriously injured Thursday afternoon, according to police. The 74-year-old was repositioning his truck and boat trailer in Falmouth Harbor when he fell out of his truck, which ran him over and continued driverless toward a farmers market. A Good Samaritan stopped the vehicle about 10 feet short of the market, police said.

The incident happened on Scranton Avenue near Marina Park. The victim, a 74-year-old Bridgewater man, was medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Falmouth police Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta said the man was seriously hurt but expected to survive. He was pinned by truck until rescuers arrived to free him.
