Man Tells Wareham Officers He Hopes They're Killed On Duty: PD

Two men face drug charges after they were stopped on Cranberry Highway early Tuesday morning.

WAREHAM, MA – One of two men arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with drug offenses told officers he hoped they get killed on duty, according to police. Officers pulled over a car traveling the wrong direction on Cranberry Highway around 1 a.m., Wareham police said.

When police initially pulled the car over, it began backing up before the officer got out and yelled at the driver to stop, police said. The car stopped again, but both the driver and the passenger were uncooperative, according to a police statement cited by Boston 25. The driver at first gave a false name to the officer and was later found to have a warrant out for his arrest, police said.

Officers searched the car and found a digital scare, more than $2,000 in cash, multiple phones, multiple pills and suspected heroin, police said. The passenger was also placed under arrest.
