• Framingham man held on high bail in fatal pedestrian crash on Hollis Street (wcvb.com) — A Framingham resident is being held on $250,000 bail after prosecutors say he was drunk when his pickup struck and killed 62-year-old Philip Bligh on Hollis Street earlier this month. Police say he initially fled on foot before returning, where officers noted signs of alcohol. He's due back in court November 3, and the case remains under investigation.
   

• BC Prison Education Program holds third graduation ceremony (bc.edu) — Framingham residents should know that MCI‑Framingham now hosts part of the state's largest B.A. prison education program, with more than 130 incarcerated students studying at two facilities. Boston College's Prison Education Program just celebrated its third graduation, highlighting how women at MCI‑Framingham and men at MCI‑Shirley are earning degrees, paid internships, and new opportunities to continue college after release.
   

• Back to Basics Conference Examines Health From the Ground Up (naturalawakeningsboston.com) — Framingham will host the Back to Basics health and wellness conference on October 17 at the Renaissance Framingham Hotel, bringing doctors, holistic practitioners, and farming experts together for a full day of talks. Local residents can hear from nationally known speakers on nutrition, disease prevention, and natural approaches to health, with lunch and parking included in the $135 ticket price.
