East Street Sees Second Break-in Within a Week

For the second time in less than a week, police in Hingham are investigating a break-in at a home on East Street.

The Aug. 1 break-in was discovered by the homeowner. According to police, a ground floor bedroom window screen was cut and the window was forced open.

The only items missing were coins along with the curtain and curtain rod from the bedroom. Jewelry that was visible in the same room was not taken.

The house is located next to a home that was broken into on July 27 and is near the 100 block of East Street between the Hingham Public Library and Chamberlain Run.

Police believe the break-in occurred between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.
