483-Pound Shark Caught Off Cape Cod

A family reeled in a huge porbeagle shark off Provincetown over the weekend.

WPXI reported the 483-pound shark was just shy of the record of 490 pounds.

Mark Evensen and his two sons took turns reeling in the massive creature. It took more than an hour, they told FOX 25.

They said they cut the shark into 200 pounds of meat.

Porbeagle sharks typically grow to about 12 feet long and have a lifespan of about 30 years. They’re distinguished by their large black eyes and pointed snouts.
