Dead Whale Washes Ashore on Martha's Vineyard

A dead whale washed ashore in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard Monday.

Edgartown, MA — A dead whale washed ashore Monday in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard.

The whale appeared to be dead for some time; its carcass was stripped.

Police said Norton Point will be closed to swimming Wednesday so crews can dispose of the carcass.

Officials are also conducting nearby water quality tests.
