Great White Sharks on Cape Cod: 7th New Shark Tagged

The seventh new great white shark was tagged off Cape Cod today, researchers announced.

Chatham, MA — Great white shark researchers on Monday tagged the seventh new great white in Cape Cod waters.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy announced the tagging of the 11-foot shark.

So far this summer, there have been a host of great white sightings on Cape Cod.

On Saturday, a shark sighting near Plymouth forced town officials to close beaches.

Last week, a 6-year-old boy fishing in Cape Cod Bay actually hooked a great white shark; the shark was cut free. Three more great whites were spotted on the eastern edge of the Cape.
