'Heavy Rain' for Martha's Vineyard Thursday, Friday

After a late-summer heat wave baked the region this week, heavy rain will drench the area Thursday and Friday.

Here’s the latest forecast:

• Thursday: Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon, then a stronger chance of showers and t-storms at night. High 81, low 62. 5-10 mph winds.
• Friday: Heavy rain and thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of showers and t-storms through the rest of the day. High 72, low 60.

Temperatures will remain at seasonable levels through the weekend, which could feature more rain.
