Jeep Stuck In Cape Cod Dune 40 Years Finally Freed

A Jeep entombed in a Truro dune for decades was finally extracted Friday.

TRURO, MA — A Jeep entombed in a dune in Truro for the last 40 years was finally unearthed Friday. The vehicle's owner is John Musnuff, according to CBS Boston. He said he's wanted to get rid of the vehicle for years but town officials required that it stay unperturbed, as pulling it out could damage the dune system, Musnuff told reporters.

Recent beach erosion made it possible to finally pull the vehicle out Friday. The vehicle was somewhat intact.

"The Jeep was kind of shot," Musnuff told CBS.
