A Little Bit of Paradise at Serenity in the City

Local salon and day spa provides much needed pampering and more

After a recent weeklong family vacation—one spent almost entirely barefoot—my footsies needed some serious pampering. So before I packed for our trip home, I called up the gals at Serenity in the City and booked one of their signature spa pedicures to be enjoyed upon our return.

Serenity in the City Salon and Spa is located at 427 Salem Street here in Medford. They’ve been recommended to me by a number of friends over the years, and now I will certainly recommend them to others.

Salem Street is almost always bustling, and the day of my appointment was no different. But as soon as I walked through the spa’s front door, I felt the calming effects of soft music, rich colors, and smiling faces. “Serenity in the City” is aptly named.

Serenity in the City offers much more than manicures and pedicures. They are a full service salon and day spa, offering:

And as if that weren’t enough, they are opening a second location. Joanne told me that when they open up “Serenity in the City, Middlesex Ave.”—which will be located at 269 Middlesex Avenue, former home of Body Rituals Day Spa—they plan to offer several new services, including those of a certified nutritionist and more. She says their grand opening is tentatively scheduled for September 1.
