Kitty Connection Holds Mini Online Auction June 12 - 14
Start summer right with the chance to win bids on fun and useful summer items –
AND consider fostering a sweet kitty for the summer!
MEDFORD –June 1, 2026 – Get ready for summer fun with items from Kitty Connection’s online Auction Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 14. The “Paws and Play for Summer” themed auction will raise funds to support the care of homeless cats and dogs, including pre-adoption veterinary procedures.
“With the cost of everything from medical procedures to pet food and litter going up, Kitty Connection’s online auctions make a huge difference for the animals under our care,” said Marie Mazzeo, Founder and Director of Kitty Connection, a non-profit that relies on a network of volunteers and pet foster homes to carry out its mission of finding loving homes for cats and dogs in Greater Boston and the North and South Shores.
Kitty Connection annually rescues more than 450 homeless animals, has a low-cost spay and neuter program and funds over 375 spay and neuter procedures for pet owners in need each year (email: lowcost@kittyconnection.net). Volunteers provide foster homes for cats and kittens until they are adopted, and Kitty Connection ensures that they are spayed/neutered, tested for common illnesses, and vaccinated before they go to their new homes. Kitty Connection also provides community education and outreach about the importance of responsible pet ownership.
In addition to dozens of items for the home, pets, and gifts, “Paws and Play for Summer” mini auction highlights include: a $100 gift card for Polkadog Bakery, a natural dog treat business in Boston’s North End; a $50 Landry’s gift card useable at hundreds of dining and entertainment destinations; and a $25 gift card to Chi Modern Asian Cuisine in Swampscott. Online auction bidding will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, and continue until 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. Kitty Connection is also urgently seeking an emergency foster home for Goldie, a sweet 2 ½-year-old orange tabby cat whose current foster parents will be away for the summer. Ideally, Goldie needs a temporary foster - or, even better, permanent – home that is quiet, peaceful and has no other pets.
