Sacada means displacement. Back sacada means mastering it in reverse.

Sundays 11 am in Malden | 8-week Pre-Advanced course starts November 1 | Each class is 90 min

Back sacadas require all the technique you need for a regular sacada, plus a solid understanding of torsions, pivots, timing and movement delay. Done well, they’re one of the most striking moments in tango. Done without the foundation, they throw both partners off axis.

This course builds that foundation step by step, so the back sacada becomes something you can bring freely into your improvised dance rather than a set move.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Torsions: creating and holding the twist that makes the back sacada possible
  • Pivots and over-pivoting, without disturbing your partner’s axis or losing connection and balance
  • Walking while in an overturned position
  • Timing and movement delay: when to enter, and when to wait
  • Integrating back sacadas into improvisation, so they appear naturally on the dance floor

Want a head start? Our on-demand sacadas course, “Mystery of the 4th: Sacada Technique, Tips & Tricks” (4 lessons), is available anytime: https://courses.ultimatetango.com/.../Mystery-of-4th...
