Car Crashes Into Tree, House Before Catching Fire In Medford

Firefighters said it seems that the car was ripped in half from hitting the tree and subsequently crashed into the house.

MEDFORD, MA — A car struck a tree and crashed into house before catching fire Thursday night on Lawrence Road in Medford, according to Medford Firefighters Local 1032.

Upon arrival, crews found neighbors pulling the driver from the fully-involved vehicle. Firefighters said it seems that the car was ripped in half from hitting the tree and subsequently crashed into the house.

Officials said the engine of the vehicle landed in the bushes, with various other parts strewn across the area. Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the home.

The driver was taken to a local hospital and his condition is unknown at this time. The occupants inside the home were unharmed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and no further information has been released.
