The 49-year-old was found with several stolen items after nearly colliding head-on with an officer and fleeing on foot, police said.

MEDFORD, MA – A repeat drunken driver was found with several stolen items after leading police on a chase in Medford, state police said. Early Thursday morning, police were warned to be on the lookout for a 1997 Hyundai Accent that had just been pursued by Boston police and fled other law enforcement agencies in recent days.
Around 12:40 a.m., a trooper saw the car driving north on I-93 near Mystic Valley Parkway and tried stopping it. The car then drove down Dudley Street in Medford, where a Medford police officer was traveling in the opposite direction. Police said the Hyundai drove straight at the police car before swerving away at the last second.
The officer had to swerve away as well to avoid being hit, according to state police.
