Encore Boston Harbor To Run Shuttles From Medford, Malden T Stops

EVERETT, MA – Encore Boston Harbor will launch a daily shuttle service from the MBTA's Wellington stop in Medford and Malden Center, the company announced Monday. The shuttles will run seven days a week starting in mid-2019 and will be free to the public.

The shuttle from the Wellington will depart every 10-20 minutes and travel directly to Encore Boston Harbor. The shuttle from Malden Center will depart every 20 minutes from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., making a stop at Wellington Station on the way to Encore Boston Harbor.

Shuttles can hold 58 passengers and are wheelchair accessible. Seats and parking at both stops will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Wellington and Malden Center are both on the MBTA Orange Line. Encore guests are encouraged to take the MBTA and shuttle, as parking at the resort will be limited. Malden Center and Wellington Stations also have parking facilities on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"The new Orange Line shuttles provide a luxury ride to and from our front door, with service frequent enough to meet the needs of any guest," Robert DeSalvio, president of Encore Boston Harbor, said in a statement. "We encourage everyone to take advantage of these and other shared transportation options to make the most of their visit to the resort."

The Orange Line shuttles are part of a slate of transportation options Encore Boston Harbor plans to introduce to serve guests visiting from within Boston, surrounding communities and out of state. These services will include water taxis, luxury coach shuttles and a bike share program.
