Jobs and Income Equality
Good Jobs in Our Community.
Good jobs help make great communities. If elected to the legislature, job creation will be Erin’s top priority; Erin knows we need well-paying jobs that allow families to thrive and our neighborhoods to prosper.
Creating jobs will be her primary focus and the driving force behind every vote she takes in the House. People are rightly concerned about income inequality in our state, and the difficulty in finding jobs that provide a good living. In Medford, Erin led the fight on the School Committee to build new science labs at Medford High School and Medford Vocational Technical High School. Ensuring that our students have access to a first-class, 21st century science curriculum has been a priority for Erin, because she knows that preparing students for the evolving job market enhances their future – and the competitiveness of the Commonwealth as a whole.
The science lab plan in Medford includes eight new labs, nine renovated labs, shared universal lab space that can accommodate a variety of science classes, science-related technology, as well as physical improvements such as new roofing and windows. There will be 17 brand new state of the art facilities in place for the core science curriculum - and new and exciting offerings such as bio-technology, engineering and robotics.
