The Community Family Adult Day Health Center hosted a Thank You Reception on May 8th for the volunteers of the Medford Jingle Bell Festival. The 20th Annual Festival was held at Medford City Hall the first week of December and the volunteer committee was recognized by Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke for their years of service and dedication organizing the event.

The Jingle Bell Festival has been run strictly by volunteers throughout its history, led by Judy Lonergan of Lonergan Insurance & Real Estate. She and a handful of other individuals have been involved with the Festival since it was started in 1999. In total, approximately 30 volunteers currently help make it a much-anticipated annual tradition in Medford.

The 2018 Festival was once again a huge success. The five day-long event includes tours of seasonally decorated Medford homes and a raffle of Christmas trees and other holiday items that are donated by local businesses, service organizations and families.

At this week’s reception, a check was presented for $22,000 to The Community Family (TCF). TCF has been the primary beneficiary of Jingle Bell Festival proceeds since its inception, having received in total well over $300,000. The funds have been vital in keeping TCF’s memory loss care center, located in the historic former train depot at 121 Washington Street, updated and state-of the-art. The reception also included a dinner, shared conversations and initial discussions about Festival #21.
