Local Bank Reinvests in Medford

MEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS - On March 4, 2014, East Cambridge Savings Bank held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of its new West Medford location at 9 Playstead Road. Over several dozen people braved the extreme morning cold to show their support including state and city officials, East Cambridge Savings Bank management team and board members. Mayor Michael J. McGlynn and State Representative Paul Donato spoke warmly about the important role that East Cambridge Savings Bank currently serves as a member of the community.  As a good corporate citizen, the Bank has given back to the community through volunteer work and sponsorships.  For three straight years, the Bank has been the lead sponsor of the city of Medford’s Summer Parks Program, funding the Program’s daily activities and summer jobs for local children.

"We are delighted to begin construction on our second full-service banking center in the city of Medford," said Gilda M. Nogueira, East Cambridge Savings Bank's president and chief executive officer. "The building will be stately in appearance; its architecture greatly influenced by other structures in the area.” The new 2,000 square foot, one-story East Cambridge Savings Bank, West Medford Banking Center will feature on-site parking, two ATMs, a drive-up teller, a night deposit box and is expected to open in the third quarter.
