Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, authorities said."This is an active investigation," Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement. "Evidence gathered so far indicates that the victim may have been with an acquaintance walking down the street shortly before the stabbing occurred."Anyone who may have seen something in the area of the Dunkin' Donuts store on Broadway early this morning is asked to come forward in order to assist in apprehending the person or the people responsible for this crime."Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Somerville Police Det. Ernest Nadile at 617-625-1600 ext. 7235.
