Medford Awards Over $50K In Grants To 13 Small Businesses
The awardees will use the funding to make storefront and façade improvements, the city said.
MEDFORD, MA — Medford’s Office of Planning, Development, and Sustainability has awarded grant funding to 13 local businesses through the Storefronts grant program, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said Monday.
The Storefronts program provides matching grants up to $5,000 to business and commercial property owners interested in making street front exterior improvements to lighting, awnings, signage, window boxes, and new paint.
The Storefronts Review Committee, representing city staff and the Chamber of Commerce, reviewed over 20 applications and selected grantees based on the proposed improvements’ potential impact on both the individual storefront and surrounding commercial district.

“Our small businesses are a vital part our local economy,” Lungo-Koehn said in a statement. “They contribute to our growing commercial tax base, strengthen our downtown corridors and provide much needed goods and services for our residents. This grant program will not only help make necessary improvements to individual storefronts but will also help to beautify our squares. We look forward to seeing each of the proposed improvement projects come to life over the coming months.”
The following businesses were selected for Storefronts grant awards:
